Song Joong Ki and co-stars Lee Hee Jun and Kwon Hae Kyo ended filming in Korea instead of Colombia as planned.
Song Joong Ki, Lee Hee Joon, and Kwon Hae Hyo’s upcoming movie “Bogota” will wrap up filming in Korea instead of the original plan to shoot in Colombia.
Bogota will be the journey of Korean young men and women who immigrated to Colombia in the 1900s, starting in search of a new life. Director Kim Sung Je will take on this project with two main actors, Song Joong Ki and Lee Hee Jun.
The film began filming in Colombia in January 2020, shooting about 40% of the film’s length ,because the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to return to Korea in March 2020. The rest of filming follows is postponed until 2021.
Song Joong Ki’s side had a discussion with the production team about whether to continue to return to Colombia to complete the filming process this July or not. And now it has been concluded that the film will end its production in Korea.
“Bogota” resumed filming on June 21 in Korea, and will complete in a period of 3 months.
In the drama, Song Joong Ki plays Guk Hee, who has experienced countless ups and downs in life after arriving in Bogota at the age of 19 and struggling to rise up in the business world. Lee Hee Joon plays Soo Young, who comes to Colombia as an employee of a large corporation. His entrepreneurial skills as well as his excellent adaptability to the environment helped him succeed in Bogota. Kwon Hae Hyo plays Sergeant Park, a former comrade of Guk Hee’s father during the Vietnam War and the head of the local Korean association in Bogota.
Before this decision, the production company said, “We will do our best to make a good movie in safe conditions.”
That means they will work hard to shoot a quality movie while following infection prevention guidelines and ensuring the safety and health of the cast and crew.
Bogata promises to be an explosive “blockbuster” movie in the near future, because this is the dedication and efforts of everyone in the crew.
